Lavender angustifolia
From the Latin lavare, meaning 'to wash'

Place of Origin: Southern France, Spain, Morocco and England.

Lavender is one of the most widely known and used essential oil. The oil is steam distilled from the flower and leaf tops. It's used for calming, lessens tensions, relaxes muscles, and promotes restful sleep; the vapors open sinuses and breathing passages. Lessens pain, healing to the skin, especially for bruises, cuts wounds, burns and sunburns. Rub on the temples to relieve headaches. Not only is it a natural insect repellent it's quite soothing on insect bites. Lavender is very healing and has been used for centuries.

Although Lavender is regarded as a non-irritant and may be applied 'neat' (full-strength), a little goes a long way! For external use only!
